Internet Marketing Party

Last night I attended my 1st Internet Marketing Party. I found the group on Meetup.com a while back and saw that they were having some really great speakers come in and talk about all sorts of internet marketing topics. Most of the time I'm never able to make the parties (and that's exactly what they are – parties!) This event was basicaly just a bunch of internet marketers together at a venue hanging out, making connections, having fun, and learning from each other. I will definately be attending more of these parties! I met some really great people at the party, and among them were the speakers – Marc Horne (He is a drummer in a band – LIKE ME!) and Hollis Carter. These two guys started HC Consulting Group and make some pretty amazing software products that are sold largely by their affilate network. They tag teamed it last night, speaking about their business and every word they spoke had me excited to hear more. They talked about things that I may have heard about before, but they explained it all in a way that made perfect sense to me. The talk wasn't rehearsed, and it wasn't a sales pitch for their products, it was a raw, un-edited explanation of some of the techniques that have made them millionaires. Needless to say…I'm gonna be busy working on integrating some of what they said into my business. They do have one product that looks like I (and you) could benefit from with very little investment. If you know my background I have created an info product that has created a passive income for me. It wasn't extremely hard to do because I had someone tell me step by step how to create, and launch a website to sell my product.

Marc and Hollis have created a product that makes info product creation a step by step process. Instead of me telling you more about it, I really think you should watch this video – WATCH THE VIDEO! Be looking for more posts and updates on the site, I've got lots of work to do!

Selling Ebooks Online

A Highly Profitable and Relatively Easy System

I just recently got into creating my own information products. I'm not some guru, I'm not the go to guy, I just learned how and started cranking them out. In this article, I want to talk to you about how you can start creating your own information products now, and profiting from them in the future.

The three questions I ask when thinking of a topic to write about are the following:

  1. What am I passionate about?
  2. What do I know about?
  3. What can I speak for hours about?

Asking yourself what you're passionate about gets you to elicit information from your mind to write about. Chances are, if you're passionate about something, you'll have a lot to say about it. That information is valuable to other people and if you can find the right audience, they will pay for your product.

Asking yourself what you know about, is a way of just going through your head and identifying what kind of information you can write about. Then, identifying what things you can talk about forever give you another line drive into your mind to grab data to write about.

The truth is, everyone has something valuable to talk about that other people will pay money for. If you can package it, you can profit from it. Here are some basic steps to create and launch your own E-book information product.

  1. Decide on your topic.
  2. Search the internet for free e-books. Any one will do.
  3. Study the structure and formatting of the e-book. Get a couple, so that you can make an educated decision on how to format your e-book.
  4. Start writing. Use Microsoft Word or Open Office.
  5. Write the entire thing first, then go back and edit and make corrections.
  6. Register a domain name for a sales page, or if you already have a blog, create the page for your information product. Check out other sales pages around the internet by searching internet marketing forums and clicking on people's signature links. Learn what a sales page looks like.
  7. Create your sales page.
  8. Get a digital delivery service. I use payloadz.
  9. Sign up with PayPal to accept credit cards. It costs nothing, they take out a small percentage per transaction and it's completely secure.
  10. Create your cover. You can outsource this on a site like fivver, or you can purchase an e-book cover creator. I suggest using TBS cover editor.
  11. Drive traffic to your sales page by writing articles on sites like this about your e-book's topic.
  12. Start getting into forums on the net. Market your product in your signature link.
  13. Write free 20 page guides and post them on your blog, and link to the sales page from the 20 page guides. Post your free guides in forums on the internet as well.
  14. Make business cards, put your URL on the business cards, and hand them out to people when you talk with them. Offline marketing is huge.
  15. Learn as many strategies as you can in driving traffic to your site including social media marketing, forum marketing and more.

Now, anyone can own an information product business. You just have to be willing to put in the time, learn how to create products and deal with the discomfort of failing a couple of times until you get it precise enough to profit from it. Entrepreneurs all over the web are making tens of thousands of dollars per month from high quality information products, and you can too. Start now.

Hootsuite-Automate Content Syndication

One of the very first twitter web applications that I started using regularly was Hootsuite. For the longest time I would go to Hootsuite once a week and set up the next week's worth of tweets. I never remember to twitter, or want to take the time to twitter when i'm actually doing something, so scheduling my tweets worked best for me. Even though I sometimes don't physicaly sit here and tweet a message on my phone or on my computer, I am still offering valuable content through my twitter account which keeps followers interested in what I have to say. I also use Hootsuite to automate the syndication of blog content to multiple social media accounts that I have set up through HootSuite, which in turn gets your links in front of more sets of eyes, and leads to more traffic to your site.

Automate Twitter and Generate Traffic

I use a program called Tweet Adder to automate my twitter accounts and generate highly targeted traffic to my websites. Since using Tweet Adder I have seen an 825% increase in the traffic that I receive from Twitter. This traffic is highly targeted and extremely valuable for my websites. Check out the video to see exactly how I use it.

Going Live Update #3 – Aweber

Today I finally finished my 3rd email in my Aweber auto responder series. In this email I explain:

  • How to customize your website with a premium theme
  • How to change some of the default WordPress settings to improve your websites search engine optimization
  • How to start using Aweber to collect email addresses.

The great thing about writing all of these emails is that I get to really emphasize what is important in internet business. I've realized today that I honestly would not have an internet business unless it was for Aweber. I've realized that I make 95% of my online income through sending people emails. Email marketing has become the bread and butter that brings home the bacon. If you want more info on how to start using Aweber for your internet business check out this page.

Internet Business Can Easily Overwhelm

Today I haven’t been very motivated to work on anything. I’ve felt overwhelmed today just at the amount of work that I still have ahead of me before I launch this website to the public.

I’ve been catching up on the IBM podcast each morning while I walk my dog, Baxter, and it usually motivates me to action. If there is one thing that I’ve learned in internet business this far, is that it takes a good amount of work to get something started, but the payoff in the end is great. Whenever I actually have this site set up and I’m able to automate everything to work for me even when I’m sleeping is what drives me to at least complete a small step every single day. I’m not naive enough to think that I’ll have this website done in a month (and when I say website I mean EVERY LITTLE DETAIL that goes into making this a successful website with helpful information that will allow YOU to start your own profitable internet business). However you can make a website in as little as 1 day, but for me this website is more than just getting it online so people can see it. I’m building this website to help others…and I don’t want to officially launch the site until I know that I have all dotted all my i’s and crossed all my t’s! That way whenever I actually launch the site to go live to the general public, there will be a vast amount of information and tutorials for people to learn from, and keep coming back to this site for help!

So…with that being said, my goal today is to complete one more email in my auto responder series. Wish me luck!

Going Live Update #2

Today I felt like I got quite a bit of work done.

I mostly worked on my Aweber auto responder series that teach people how to start a profitable online business. I wrote 2 emails and created a very nice looking template that I will use for all of my emails.  Here is a screen shot of what it will look like:

I really am learning so much as I work on this site. The email template’s that Aweber offers are incredible easy to work with. I think I will have to go back and redesign all of my Makedrums.com emails to look better. Right now they are all just simple text emails. With Aweber you can use an email template that they have designed, or you can do what I did and customize one of the templates to be more of what you want. After I designed the email layout I tested it by sending it to my own email address to see how it would look showing up in my inbox. Looks great!

Product Review: PopUpDomination

I stumbled upon the PopUpDomination plugin while visiting Michael Dunlop’s website for the first time. Michael is an internet entrepreneur that saw a need for a highly customizable pop up opt in box to place on his websites to increase opt in conversion. He saw the need, and developed the plugin. I use this plugin in conjunction with my Aweber email marketing account to encourage people to sign up on my email list. In this post I’ll be talking about using the plugin on the site that sells my Ebook.

Downloading and installing the plugin is incredibly easy thanks to the ‘upload’ feature for wordpress plugins. Once the plugin is installed all you have to do is fill in the necessary information about whatever benefits a reader will receive from opting in to your email list.

The user interface is extremely user friendly. The only part that took a little more time figuring out was how to find the mailing list html code from my aweber account to match it up with the write sign up! But I finally figured it out – I went to my Awebber web forms and copied the actual html from the web form and posted it into PopUpDomination. The plugin then automatically finds what it needs to sync the pop up to your email list! Brilliant! (But you should always test it by entering your own email address into the form, then make sure you get your email.)

I have only been using this plugin for 1 full day, but I have already seen a substantial increase in leads. I usually get anywhere from 5-8 sign ups a day, but after 1 full day of use with PopUpDomination, I received 17 sign ups. That got me pretty excited because I was wondering if this was going to be worth the money. I now know that it is. Historically speaking I know that 15% of the people who opt in to my email list will most likely end up buying my ebook. Therefore, the more opt ins I’m able to get…the more passive income I’m able to make. I will revisit this post in a month or so to let you know how this plugin holds up over time!

Going Live Update #1

I have decided that anytime I work on something to do with this site I would write a little bit about it so that later on down the road you can find it and see exactly what I did to set up this site and promote it to the masses!

Well. I've already done a lot of work, but to let you know how the idea for this website came about here is a summary:

  1. I had an idea to create a website that teaches others how to start an internet business.
  2. I bought this domain name from Godaddy.
  3. I already had hosting with Eleven2 so I just changed the nameservers of my domain to use the eleven2 nameservers.
  4. I used the cpanel application called Fantastico Deluxe to install the WordPress.org backend on my site.
  5. I installed a free WordPress theme from WooThemes.
  6. I started customizing the look of this site.
  7. I wrote the first letter in a series of my auto responder that teaches you (in way more detail than this) how to start your own profitable internet business.
  8. I used the web form tool from Aweber to create an email opt in form so I can start collected email addresses from people who want to learn about making money online.
  9. I got my lovely wife to help me with some simple graphics for the website.
  10. I installed the PopUpDomination plugin to make opting in easier and more prominent.
  11. I started a new twitter account specifically for this site – @passivecashflo
  12. I downloaded Tweet Adder and started automating my twitter account.

And here I am now, creating content and trying to figure out my next move. Wish me luck!

Lots of work to be done!

Hello there friends,

Right now I'm busy creating content for this site, but I wanted to invite you to check it out and be one of the first to sign up for my free guide that explains exactly what I did to start my own internet business.  Thanks for dropping by!
